Joseph Cheung is a Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Functional Strength Coach. His vision is to work with individuals to educate and empower them to take care of their own bodies through manual therapy and exercise.
At the age of 30, after working as a corporate accountant for 6 years and the passing of his father from cancer, he realized life was too short and decided to pursue his passion. At that time he was battling his own ailments as well. To seek answers, he studied Massage Therapy, read countless books about the human body, travelled around the world to seek out world renowned mentors and studied various cultures about how their lifestyle impacted their health. In his quest for the truth he realized that the human body is a magnificent piece of work. It is highly adaptable and resilient. With the right stimulus, rest, nutrition and sufficient amount of time, the body can heal and overcome even the greatest of obstacles.
He has developed a vast amount of knowledge and experience after working with countless clients from various backgrounds. He has worked with athletes such as powerlifters, martial artists, as well as desk workers, weekend warriors, mothers to be, and with ages ranging from a 1 month old baby to 90 year old grandparents. He has worked with acute injuries to chronic pain conditions. He has also worked with clients on day one of injury and helped them return to full function and out of pain in daily life.
His approach combines Manual Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, and client education to Pre/rehab them from acute/chronic injuries and to develop a highly resilient body that can address the stressors of daily life.
